The biggest challenge facing Peddocks Island today is what to do with the 36 cottages on the island. Some are falling apart, while others are still inhabited. The Boston Harbor Islands were turned into a National Park in 1996, so technically the cottages are on public land, but the also have a long history as part of the island.
