As someone who lives in the Lower Dot, I'm really excited about this new resource. Seems they comment mostly on new business and restaurants, but have lots of neighborhood news too. Apr 14, 2008 - 08:04 am http://www.bostonknows.com No Bike Lanes Included in Improvements for Dorchester Avenue http://www.bostonknows.com/pages/index.php?item=939&group=47 Last week the city announced that it was going to spend $12 million on improvements for Dorchester Avenue with no mention of bike lanes. The improvements aim to "improve traffic flow". Encouraging people to ride bikes, instead of cars will certainly improve traffic flow! I bike regularly along Dot Ave and it's more adventure then I care to handle most days. It's nice that the mayor appointed a "bike czar," but why not put some serious investment behind his commitment to biking? For those interested in getting more involved with this issue, consider supporting Dot Bike, a new advocacy group for bikers in Dorchester or email your council member.
